Erasmus members discovering the Old City !

It’s an emblematic and popular district of the city of Lille. Indeed, who would refuse to settle down in a gourmet and atypical district which looks like a little village at the heart of a big city ?

In fact it is the last part of the city with an architectural style from the former industrial revolution period. All of the buildings are in that period’s style and this is why the Old Lille is such a charming and contrasting place comparing to the city center which quickly became modern. Vieux-Lille is a dynamic district with plenty of shops and luxury stores. Other symbolic places like Peuple Belge, Treille‘s cathedral, Place aux Oignons, and also the IAE of Lille can be found in the depths of the the Old Lille. Many students live in this district which brings a warm and active atmosphere despite the fact that the prices are constantly increasing which is due to the popularity and the considerable appeal of the place.

Here are some special places where you can have fun, just drink a beer, discover some special place or even go on a date !

-La capsule : If you are a beer lover, this is the place to be. Near the Cathédrale de la treille, you will have a large variety of beer. Prices are ok, the staff will always be there for you and help you to make your choice. You can go even underground! Facebook page

Parks are always best spots in town if you want to relax and breath ! Take a little break and go to the Park next to La treille.
La treille is a church that has been destroyed during the second world war and has been renovated with new techniques. What’s impressive with this place is that, it doesn’t really looks like a church. We could say that it’s a very special church.
